Speaker of the month introduced ShelterBox to participants, presented by Charles Lambert (ShelterBox Ambassador from  Nelson West Rotary Club) and Jimmy Griffith (ShelterBox volunteer team member). ShelterBox is a not-for-profit organisation and a Rotary International Project Partner which has been nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2018.

ShelterBox is a Rotary International Project Partner which started in the United Kingdom in the year 2000. They operate to provide emergency shelter and tools for families robbed of their homes by natural disaster and conflicts, to make a difference and transform despair into hope.

Their Vision : To help 1 million people every year by 2025
 
Charles Lambert (ShelterBox Ambassador from  Nelson West Rotary Club) and Jimmy Griffith (ShelterBox volunteer team member) presented the evening to introduce ShelterBox and talk about the recent deployments and strategies being undertaken worldwide. Jimmy shared his experiences over the 10 deployments he had gone on and told of his first deployment when he went to give a woman and her family a tent and noted was free from people all around the world, she started to cry as she couldn't believe the generosity of people who she didn't even know.
